Venice5th is very well located in the heart of Venice in one of the most picturesque and representative parts of the city, it is within a few minutes of Saint Marks Square on one side and the Rialto Bridge on the other.
Castello, the name of the neighbourhood that surrounds our wonderful home and that will guide you throughout your journey to Venice and its ancient tradition! Here, you will feel the true essence of Venice, with laundry hanging out to dry between the windows, historical studios, bookshops and boutiques where you can indulge in some local shopping, which feels so unique and separate from the rest of the world!
A few steps away there is the famous and beautiful 'Piazza San Marco', with the main attractions of Venice (Dodge Palace, St Mark’s Basilica, etc) all to be discovered and admired. A few minutes walk in the other direction will take you to the Rialto Bridge which crosses over the narrowest point of the Grand Canal with its picturesque local market.
If you feel like discovering other parts of the lagoon, you can take a Vaporetto (water bus) and visit the famous Burano island with its bright colourful houses; Murano - famous for glassmaking; the Lido with its long sandy beaches and where the Venice International Film Festival takes place every summer; abandoned Torcello to learn more about Venice's rich history. Immerse yourself in true Venetian culture and get lost in this fabulous city.

Barbara was born in Venice to a family that has made glass in Murano for over 700 years and was blessed with the fortune of growing up surrounded by the city’s famous artistic heritage.
She married an Englishman, who lived in the city and shared her passion for Venice and together they completely rebuilt, this home on the rooftops.

Barbara. your host has a passion for all things organic and natural this is reflected in the materials used to renovate the apartment and anything used in the maintenance and general cleaning.

Barbara will be happy to assist you should you have any problems, but sometimes will be away for work or family reasons. When this happens, her brother, Antonio, will step in and take care of things on her behalf. When you arrive, you will be welcomed by one of our team who will guide you to the apartment and will give you all the information you require. In addition, you are welcome to count on our help for the duration of your stay in the city.
